Digital Universal Control Harness [DUCH] is based on ISDN principles and is offered by Bharat Electronics. Digital Universal Control Harness is a highly flexible new generation interconnects system for combat vehicles. Digital Universal Control Harness provides full duplex communication between crew viz., commander, gunner, driver, external and remote users [upto six crew members] as well as direct access up to 3 radios [upto 5 radios with a Radio Expansion Unit]. Digital Universal Control Harness is mainly consists of two types of units: Master Control Unit [MCU]: MCU, the heart of DUCH, contains the processor controlled digital switching as well as power supply section for the system. The CCU units are connected to MCU through single core fire retardant type coaxial cables or twisted wire pair through which the multiplexed voice and data and power supply to all the CCU units are routed. Upto 3 radios are connected to MCU through double shielded cables. Crew Control Unit [CCU]: CCU-Gunner and CCU-Driver interface with the MCU through single core coaxial cable.
